Keiko Agena, born Christine Keiko Agena on October 3, 1973, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an American actress celebrated primarily for her role as Lane Kim in the acclaimed television series “Gilmore Girls.”

Of Okinawan descent, she began acting at the age of ten, appearing in local theater productions and later attending Mid-Pacific Institute on Oʻahu to further hone her craft. She briefly studied drama at Whitman College in Washington before leaving to pursue acting professionally.

Her breakthrough arrived in 2000 when she was cast as Lane Kim, convincingly playing a teenage character despite being 27 years old at the time. The show ran for seven seasons and earned her significant recognition, including a Young Artist Award in 2002 for Best Performance in a TV Drama Series – Supporting Young Actress.

Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her versatility, with notable roles in series such as “Prodigal Son,” where she portrayed NYPD medical examiner Dr. Edrisa Tanaka, and appearances in “Better Call Saul,” “13 Reasons Why,” and “Castle.”

She has also voiced characters in animated shows like “Kim Possible” and acted in films including “Transformers: Dark of the Moon.” Agena’s body of work spans television, film, and voice acting, earning her awards such as the Ammy Award, which honors Asian and Asian-American achievement in entertainment.
