Kevin Hart, born Kevin Darnell Hart on July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American comedian and actor. He was raised by his mother, Nancy Hart, who worked as a systems analyst, while his father, Henry Robert Witherspoon, struggled with addiction and was often in and out of jail.
Kevin Hart has an older brother named Robert. He used humor as a way to cope with his troubled family life and began pursuing comedy after graduating from high school.
His career began with stand-up comedy competitions, which led to his first breakthrough when Judd Apatow cast him in a recurring role on the TV series Undeclared in 2001. His comedic reputation grew with the release of his first stand-up album, I'm a Grown Little Man, in 2009.
He has since released several more comedy albums, including Seriously Funny, Laugh at My Pain, Let Me Explain, and What Now?
Kevin Hart has also appeared in numerous films, such as Paper Soldiers, Scary Movie 3, Think Like a Man, Ride Along, Central Intelligence, and the Jumanji film franchise. He created and starred in the TV series Real Husbands of Hollywood from 2013 to 2016.
