Kim Raver, born Kimberly Jayne Raver on March 15, 1969, in New York City, is an American actress known for her roles in television and film. She began her career as a child actress on "Sesame Street" from 1975 to 1978, and later attended Boston University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drama.
Fluent in French and German, she learned these languages from her German-born mother. Kim is married to French actor and writer Manuel Boyer, and they have two sons, Luke West Boyer and Leo Kipling Boyer.
Her career took off with her Broadway debut in the play "Holiday" in 1995, where she starred alongside Laura Linney and Tony Goldwyn. She also appeared in the feature film "City Hall" with Al Pacino.

Kim Raver gained prominence with her role as Kim Zambrano on the television series "Third Watch" from 1999 to 2005. She then starred as Audrey Raines on the television series "24" for two seasons, and later reprised her role in season 6.
She also starred in the short-lived series "The Nine" and "Lipstick Jungle." Her most notable role came in 2009 when she joined the cast of "Grey's Anatomy" as Dr. Teddy Altman, a cardiothoracic surgeon.
She left the show in 2012 but returned in 2017 and has remained a series regular since then. She also appeared in the animation film "Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors" as the voice of Captain Marvel.
