Lawrence Gene David, known as Larry David, was born on July 2, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York. He is an American comedian, writer, actor, and television producer.

His parents are Rose and Mortimer David, and he has an older brother named Ken. His family is Jewish, with his father's family originally from Germany and his mother's family from Poland.

He graduated from Sheepshead Bay High School and later attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in history in 1970.

Larry David began his career as a stand-up comedian in New York City. He later transitioned to television comedy, writing and starring in ABC's Fridays and writing briefly for Saturday Night Live.

In 1989, he co-created the NBC television sitcom Seinfeld with Jerry Seinfeld. Larry served as the head writer and executive producer for the first seven seasons of the show, which became a huge critical and commercial success.

He gained further recognition for creating and writing the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he also stars as a fictionalized version of himself. The show has been praised for its socially awkward plot points and likable characters.

Throughout his career, Larry David has received numerous awards and nominations. He won two Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on Seinfeld and has been nominated for 27 Primetime Emmy Awards in total.

Larry David has been married twice. He was first married to Laurie Lennard from 1993 to 2007, and they have two children together. In 2020, he married Ashley Underwood.
