Linda Carroll Hamilton, born on September 26, 1956, in Salisbury, Maryland, is an acclaimed American actress celebrated for her portrayals of strong, complex characters, most famously Sarah Connor in the “Terminator” film series.

Raised alongside her identical twin Leslie and other siblings, she attended Wicomico High School and then Washington College, before moving to New York City to pursue acting, studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.

After making her film debut in 1979, she gained early attention with performances in “Children of the Corn” (1984) and the thriller “Tag: The Assassination Game” (1982). Her breakthrough came with James Cameron’s “The Terminator” (1984), where she played Sarah Connor, a role she reprised and redefined in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991) and returned to in “Terminator: Dark Fate” (2019).

Her performance in the sequel, which she helped shape by insisting on a radical evolution of the character, became iconic in action cinema and earned her a Saturn Award, two MTV Movie Awards, and further acclaim from critics and audiences.

Beyond the Terminator franchise, her varied filmography includes “Black Moon Rising” (1986), “King Kong Lives” (1986), “Mr. Destiny” (1990), and “Dante’s Peak” (1997), among other film and television roles.

She also starred as Catherine Chandler in the CBS television series “Beauty and the Beast” (1987–1989), earning Golden Globe nominations and a Primetime Emmy nod. Hamilton has taken on recurring roles in shows like “Chuck,” “Weeds,” and “Resident Alien,” and has contributed voice work and performances in numerous television films.
