Lynn Herring

Lynn Herring, born Sheryl Lynn Herring on September 22, 1958, in Enid, Oklahoma, is an American actress and former beauty pageant titleholder. Before her acting career took off, she was crowned Miss Virginia USA in 1977 and went on to be the fourth runner-up in the Miss USA pageant.

She earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from Louisiana State University, where she was also a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Lynn Herring is best known for her role as Lucy Coe on the long-running soap opera "General Hospital," a role she has portrayed on and off since 1986. Over time, Lucy evolved from a mousy librarian to a glamorous and man-hungry character, making the role very lucrative for Herring.

She briefly left "General Hospital" to explore other opportunities, including a stint on "Days of Our Lives," but returned to "General Hospital" and later reprised her role on the spin-off series "Port Charles."

In her personal life, Lynn Herring married actor Wayne Northrop in 1981, and they have two sons, Hank Wayne and Grady Lee. The couple owned and ran a working cattle ranch in Madera County, California. Wayne Northrop passed away in 2024, but she continues to be involved in various activities, including restoring an old train depot into a museum and working with animals.
