Lynn Loring was born Lynn Eileen Zimring on July 14, 1943, in Manhattan, New York City. She began her career as a child actress, appearing on CBS's anthology series "Studio One" at the age of six.

At seven, she started doing TV commercials and was dubbed "The Junior Set's Betty Furness." From ages six to sixteen, she played the role of Patty on the television soap opera "Search for Tomorrow."

As a young adult, she made guest appearances on shows like "Playhouse 90," "Hallmark Hall of Fame," "The Defenders," and "The Big Valley." She transitioned from acting to production in the late 1970s, working as the casting director for the TV movie "Raid on Coffeyville" in 1979.

She later shifted into producing and had a fruitful partnership with Aaron Spelling.

In the late 1980s, Lynn Loring became one of the first women to hold a high-ranking role in Hollywood when she assumed the presidency of MGM/UA Television Productions.

She produced several successful TV movies and series, including "Mr. Mom" (1983), "Glitter" (1984-1985), and "Making of a Male Model" (1983).

Lynn Loring was married to actor Roy Thinnes from 1967 to 1984, and they had two children, Christopher and Casey-Leigh Thinnes. After her divorce, she married Michael Bergman, who passed away before her.

Her impressive career transition from child actress to television studio president is a testament to her talent and determination. She passed away on December 23, 2023, in Los Angeles County, California, due to a series of chronic illnesses.
