Marina Sirtis is a British-American actress born on March 29, 1955, in Hackney, London, to Greek parents. She grew up in Harringay, North London, and despite her parents' wishes, she secretly auditioned for drama school while still in secondary school.

She was accepted into the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she graduated in 1976. Marina Sirtis began her career with the repertory company at the Connaught Theatre in Worthing, West Sussex, and later moved to Los Angeles in 1986 to pursue more opportunities in the United States.

Marina Sirtis is best known for her role as Counselor Deanna Troi on the television series "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and its four subsequent feature films. Her portrayal of the empathetic and intelligent counselor made her a beloved figure among "Star Trek" fans.

She reprised her role in the series "Star Trek: Picard" and has also voiced characters in video games and animated series, such as "Gargoyles".

In her personal life, Marina Sirtis married rock guitarist Michael Lamper in 1992, but he passed away in 2019. She is a huge soccer fan and enjoys watching her brother play the sport.
