Martin Garrix, born Martijn Gerard Garritsen on May 14, 1996, in Amstelveen, Netherlands, is a renowned Dutch DJ and record producer. He developed an interest in music at an early age and learned to play the guitar when he was just eight years old.

His passion for becoming a DJ was ignited after watching Dutch DJ Tiësto perform at the 2004 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in Athens. Inspired by Tiësto's track "Traffic," Garrix downloaded the digital audio workstation FL Studio and began producing his own music.

He graduated from the Herman Brood Academy, a production school in Utrecht, in 2013.

His career took off when he was discovered by Tiësto, who he described as inspirational and humble. He initially gained recognition with his remix of Enrique Iglesias's single "Tonight (I'm Loving You)" and subsequently signed with Spinnin' Records in 2012.

His breakthrough came with the release of his solo track "Animals" in 2013, which became a massive hit worldwide. This success led to collaborations with other prominent artists such as AfroJack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Usher, and Julian Jordan. In 2016, He founded his own record label, Stmpd Rcrds, after leaving Spinnin' Records and signed with Sony Music.

Throughout his career, Martin Garrix has performed at major music festivals like Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Tomorrowland, and Creamfields.

He became the youngest DJ to headline the Ultra Music Festival in 2014 at the age of 17. He has also held residencies at popular clubs in Ibiza, including Hï Ibiza and Ushuaïa Ibiza. His notable singles include "In the Name of Love," "Scared to Be Lonely," and "There for You."

In his personal life, Martin Garrix tends to keep things relatively private. He was born to Gerard and Karin Garritsen and has a younger sister named Laura.

He is currently dating model Charelle Schriek. Despite his busy career, he remains dedicated to his craft and continues to experiment with different sounds and techniques to create unique and catchy music.
