Masiela Lusha was born on October 23, 1985, in Tirana, Albania, to Max and Daniela Lusha. Her family moved to Budapest, Hungary, and later Vienna, Austria, before settling in Michigan when she was seven years old.
English was her fourth language, after Albanian, Hungarian, and German. At the age of twelve, she began a modeling career in Michigan and was soon discovered by a Hollywood talent agent.
Her acting career took off when she was cast as Carmen Lopez on the globally syndicated ABC sitcom "George Lopez," a role that earned her two consecutive Young Artist Awards for Leading Young Actress in a Comedy or Drama.
She made her television debut in the Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire" in 2001 and appeared as a main cast member in "Clifford's Puppy Days" from 2003 to 2005.
