She was one of the few actors to achieve the "Triple Crown of Acting," winning an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Tony Awards.
Maureen Stapleton began her career on Broadway, making her debut in "The Playboy of the Western World" in 1946. She went on to win two Tony Awards for her performances in "The Rose Tattoo" (1951) and "The Gingerbread Lady" (1971).
