Maya Rudolph grew up primarily in Los Angeles, California, and attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she majored in photography. She later pursued a career in comedy, joining the famed troupe The Groundlings before becoming a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 2000 to 2007.
