Mayim Bialik, born on December 12, 1975, in San Diego, California, is an American actress, author, and neuroscientist. She began her acting career as a child in the late 1980s, with early roles in the horror film "Pumpkinhead" and guest appearances on television shows like "The Facts of Life" and "Beauty and the Beast". 

She gained widespread recognition for her role as the title character in the NBC sitcom "Blossom," which aired from 1991 to 1995.

In addition to her acting career, she pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2000. She continued her studies and obtained a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UCLA in 2007, with her dissertation focusing on hypothalamic regulation in relation to maladaptive, obsessive-compulsive, affiliative, and satiety behaviors in Prader-Willi syndrome.

Her personal life has been marked by her dedication to both her family and her career. She was married to Michael Stone from 2003 to 2013, and they have two children together.
