Meg Ryan, born Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra on November 19, 1961, in Fairfield, Connecticut, is an American actress known for her charming and charismatic roles in romantic comedies.

She began her career with a small role in the 1981 film "Rich and Famous" and gained recognition for her performance in the CBS soap opera "As the World Turns" from 1982 to 1984.
