She was the middle sister of the famous Talmadge sisters, Norma and Constance, who were also actresses. In 1921, she married actor Buster Keaton, and they had two sons together. Natalie appeared in Keaton's film "Our Hospitality" (1923), which was her final film role. After her marriage ended in 1933, Natalie largely retired from acting and lived a more private life.
