Natasha Jane Richardson was born on May 11, 1963, in Marylebone, London, to actress Vanessa Redgrave and director Tony Richardson. She was part of the renowned Redgrave family, known for their significant contributions to theater and film.

Her early exposure to the arts, thanks to her family, set the stage for her future career. She made her film debut at the age of four in an uncredited role in "The Charge of the Light Brigade," directed by her father.

Natasha Richardson was educated at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle and St. Paul's Girls' School in London before training at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Her career began in regional theater and she quickly gained recognition for her performances. She made her Broadway debut in 1993 in a revival of Eugene O'Neill's "Anna Christie," where she starred opposite Liam Neeson.

This production marked the beginning of her personal and professional relationship with Neeson, whom she married in 1994. Her performance in the Broadway revival of "Cabaret" in 1998 earned her the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, among other accolades.

Throughout her career, she appeared in numerous films, including "Gothic" (1986), "Patty Hearst" (1988), "The Handmaid's Tale" (1990), "Nell" (1994), "The Parent Trap" (1998), and "Maid in Manhattan" (2002).

Her personal life was centered around her family. She was a devoted wife to Liam Neeson and a loving mother to their two sons, Micheál and Daniel. Natasha and Liam split their time between an apartment in New York City and a country house in upstate New York.

Tragically, Natasha Richardson passed away on March 18, 2009, at the age of 45, following a skiing accident in Quebec.
