Odeya Rush, born Odeya Rushinek on May 12, 1997, in Haifa, Israel, is an Israeli actress known for her roles in films like "The Giver," "Goosebumps," and "Lady Bird." Her name means "I will thank God" in Hebrew. When she was nine, her family moved to the United States so her father could take up a job as a security consultant in Alabama.

She initially did not know English and could only speak Hebrew. She attended the N.E. Miles Jewish Day School in Birmingham, Alabama, and later moved to Midland Park, New Jersey, where she attended public school. In early 2013, she moved to Los Angeles with her family. She has six brothers, four of whom are younger and live with their parents in Los Angeles, while two older half-brothers reside in Israel.

Before becoming an actress, Odeya Rush began her career as a model, appearing in major campaigns and advertisements for fashion brands like Polo Ralph Lauren, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, and H&M.

Her first acting roles came in 2010, with a guest appearance on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm." Her first film role was in 2012, playing Joni Jerome in "The Odd Life of Timothy Green." She gained wider recognition for her role as Fiona in "The Giver" (2014), a science fiction film based on the novel by Lois Lowry.

In 2015, she played Ashley Burwood in the comedy film "See You in Valhalla" and the female lead in "Goosebumps," where she teamed up with Jack Black to fight the Goosebumps monsters.
