Pamela Adlon, born Pamela Segall on July 9, 1966, in New York City, is an American actress, writer, producer, and director. She comes from an acting family and began her career in television in 1983. She is known for her distinctive voice and compelling performances across television and film. She has dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Her personal life has been marked by her experiences as a single mother. She was married to Felix O. Adlon from 1996 to 2010, and they have three daughters: Gideon, Odessa, and Valentine.
