She attended the Argyle Academy and later won an audition with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, where she trained intensively for three years. Upon returning to the United States, she signed a seven-year contract with Universal Studios.
Her career took off in the 1970s with guest roles in various television series such as "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "The Rockford Files," and "McMillan & Wife."
