Pierce Brendan Brosnan was born on May 16, 1953, in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. He is an Irish actor and film producer who holds both Irish and American citizenship. His early life was marked by his father's departure when he was an infant, and he was subsequently raised by his maternal grandparents, and later by his mother and stepfather in London.

He attended the Drama Centre in London for three years, which laid the foundation for his acting career.

His career began with stage acting, but he gained widespread recognition for his role in the television series Remington Steele, which aired from 1982 to 1987. His portrayal of the suave detective made him a household name. However, it was his role as James Bond that catapulted him to international stardom.

Pierce Brosnan played the iconic secret agent in four films: GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, and Die Another Day, from 1995 to 2002.

In addition to his work as James Bond, he has appeared in a variety of other films. Some notable ones include the comedy Mrs. Doubtfire, the disaster film Dante's Peak, and the heist film The Thomas Crown Affair.

Pierce Brosnan has been married twice. His first wife, Cassandra Harris, passed away in 1991, and they had three children together. He married Keely Shaye Smith in 2001, and they have two children.

He co-founded the production company Irish DreamTime and has received several accolades, including two Golden Globe nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
