Priscilla Pointer, born on May 18, 1924, in New York City, is a retired American actress who began her career in the theater in the late 1940s, including productions on Broadway.
She later moved to Hollywood and made appearances on television starting in the early 1950s. She is the mother of actress and singer Amy Irving, making her the former mother-in-law of filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Bruno Barreto. She turned 100 years old in May 2024.
Priscilla Pointer was married to film and stage director Jules Irving from 1947 until his death in 1979, and they had three children, including actress Amy Irving. After Jules' death, she married actor Robert Symonds in 1980, and they remained together until his death in 2007.
