Raymond Peter Kogovsek, born on August 19, 1941, in Pueblo, Colorado, was an American politician who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Colorado's 3rd congressional district from 1979 to 1985. He was a member of the Democratic Party and had a long career in public service.

Raymond P. Kogovsek graduated from Pueblo Catholic High School in 1959 and went on to attend Pueblo Junior College and Adams State College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1964. He also did graduate work at the University of Denver.

Before his tenure in Congress, he served in various local government positions, including working in the Pueblo County Clerk's office from 1964 to 1973 and as a paralegal aide from 1974 to 1978. He was also a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 1969 to 1971 and the Colorado Senate from 1971 to 1978, where he served as the minority leader from 1973 to 1978.

He was a delegate to the Colorado State Democratic conventions from 1966 to 1979.

During his time in Congress, he focused on issues important to his constituents, including agriculture, water resources, and economic development. He was re-elected twice, serving three terms in the House of Representatives. However, he chose not to seek re-election in 1984 and returned to Pueblo, Colorado, where he continued to be involved in local politics and community activities.

After retiring from politics, Raymond P. Kogovsek remained active in his community and was known for his dedication to public service. He passed away on April 30, 2017, at the age of 75 in Pueblo, Colorado, and was interred at Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo.
