She began her career as a model at the age of 14 and transitioned to acting with her role as Kelly Capwell in the NBC Daytime soap opera "Santa Barbara" from 1984 to 1988.

Robin Wright gained widespread recognition for her role as Princess Buttercup in the fantasy film "The Princess Bride" (1987) and received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Forrest Gump" (1994).
