Ryan Rodney Reynolds, born on October 23, 1976, is a Canadian-American actor, producer, and businessman. He is best known for his roles in films such as "Deadpool", "Free Guy", and "The Proposal" among others.

Ryan Reynolds has also been involved in various business ventures and holds an ownership stake in Mint Mobile.

He was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to James Chester Reynolds, a Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman turned food wholesaler, and Tamara Lee, a retail salesperson.

He is the youngest of four sons and has Irish and Scottish ancestry. He began acting at age 13, landing a lead role in Nickelodeon’s teen soap opera "Hillside" (also known as "Fifteen").

He has been married to actress Blake Lively since 2012, and they have four children together. Prior to this, he was married to actress Scarlett Johansson from 2008 to 2011.

His career began in 1991 with the Canadian teen soap opera "Hillside" and he had minor roles before landing the lead role on the sitcom "Two Guys and a Girl" between 1998 and 2001.

He then starred in a range of films, including comedies such as "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" (2002), "Waiting..." (2005), and "The Proposal" (2009). He also performed in dramatic roles in "Buried" (2010), "Woman in Gold" (2015), and "Life" (2017). Reynolds' biggest commercial success came with the 20th Century Fox X-Men films "Deadpool" (2016) and "Deadpool 2" (2018), in which he played the title character.

Some of his best-known movies include "Deadpool" (2016), "Free Guy" (2021), "Deadpool 2" (2018), "The Proposal" (2009), "Buried" (2010), "Woman in Gold" (2015), "Life" (2017), "Green Lantern" (2011), "6 Underground" (2019), and "The Adam Project" (2022).

He has received several awards and nominations throughout his career. He won the Saturn Award for Best Actor for "Deadpool" in 2017.

His performance in "Deadpool" also earned him nominations at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. Ryan Reynolds was also named People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2010 and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017.
