Sally Struthers, born Sally Anne Struthers on July 28, 1947, in Portland, Oregon, is an American actress and activist. She is best known for her role as Gloria Stivic on the iconic sitcom "All in the Family," for which she won two Emmy Awards.

Her journey to fame began with a challenging childhood, as her father abandoned the family when she was nine years old, leaving her mother to raise Sally and her older sister Sue on her own.

Despite these hardships, she pursued an acting career, moving to Los Angeles and training at the Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts, where she earned a scholarship as its most promising student.
