Sandra Annette Bullock was born on July 26, 1964, in Arlington County, Virginia. She is an American actress and film producer known for her charismatic energy and wit onscreen. She spent most of her childhood in Nürnberg, West Germany, traveling with her mother, who was a German opera singer.

She attended high school in Virginia and later studied drama at East Carolina University. After moving to New York, she studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre.

Sandra Bullock made her acting debut with a minor role in the thriller Hangmen in 1987. She received early attention for her supporting role in the action film Demolition Man in 1993. Her breakthrough came with the action thriller Speed in 1994.
