Sara Rue

Sara Rue, born Sara Schlackman on January 26, 1979, in New York City, is an American actress best known for her performances in popular TV shows such as "Popular," "Less Than Perfect," and "A Series of Unfortunate Events."

Raised in New York by her parents, Joan Schlackman, a former actress, and Marc Schlackman, a stage manager, she was exposed to the world of theater from a young age. She is Jewish and has a younger sister named Leah.

Sara Rue began her acting career at the age of nine, appearing in the 1988 film "Rocket Gibraltar" as Kevin Spacey's daughter. She continued to build her career with roles in various TV shows and movies, including "Grand," "Phenom," "ER," and "The Division." From 2002 to 2006, she starred as Claude Casey in the ABC sitcom "Less Than Perfect," which became one of her most recognizable roles.
