Selena Marie Gomez, born on July 22, 1992, is an American singer, actress, producer, and businesswoman. Born in Grand Prairie, Texas, she is regarded as a pop icon and began her career as a child actress, starring on the children's television series Barney & Friends (2002–2004).

Her parents are Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Joel Gomez. Her parents divorced when she was five years old, and she remained with her mother.

She has two younger half-sisters, Gracie Elliot Teefey, through Mandy and her second husband, Brian Teefey, and Victoria "Tori" Gomez, through Ricardo and his second wife, Sara.

Selena Gomez is currently dating music producer and longtime friend Benny Blanco. The couple confirmed their relationship in December 2023. They have been spotted together on numerous occasions, and Selena has shared several sweet photos of them together on her Instagram.

Her career began as a child actress, starring on the children's television series Barney & Friends. She rose to prominence for her leading role as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel sitcom Wizards of Waverly Place (2007–2012).
