Sigrid Valdis, born Patricia Annette Olson on September 21, 1935, in Bakersfield, California, was an American actress best known for her role as Hilda in the television series "Hogan's Heroes."

She began her acting career in the late 1950s, appearing in bit parts in films and guest-starring in several television shows, including "The Wild Wild West" and "Kraft Television Theatre." Her natural talent and on-screen demeanor quickly caught the attention of producers and directors, leading to more significant roles.

In 1966, she landed the role of Hilda, Colonel Klink's secretary, in "Hogan's Heroes," a role she played until 1971. Her performance in the series was well-received, and she became a recognizable face on television.

Sigrid Valdis also appeared in several films during her career, including "Two Tickets to Paris" (1962), "Marriage on the Rocks" (1965), "Our Man Flint" (1966), and "The Venetian Affair" (1967). She was married twice during her life.

Her first marriage was to fashion businessman George Gilbert Ateyeh, with whom she had a daughter, Melissa. After Ateyeh's death in 1967, she married Bob Crane, her co-star from "Hogan's Heroes," in 1970. The couple had a son, Robert Scott Crane, and Valdis retired from acting shortly after their marriage.

Tragically, Crane was murdered in 1978, and Sigrid Valdis moved from the Los Angeles area to Seattle in 1980. In her later years, she joined the cast of her son's syndicated weekly sketch comedy radio show, "Shaken, Not Stirred," in 1998.

She moved back to her childhood home in Westwood in 2004 and oversaw a tribute website to her late husband, where she answered questions from fans of "Hogan's Heroes."

Sigrid Valdis passed away on October 14, 2007, from lung cancer in Anaheim, California, at the age of 72.
