Stephanie Hodge was born on December 24, 1956, in Wilmington, Ohio, to a college professor father and a schoolteacher mother. She attended Wilmington College and Ohio University, where she began her journey into the world of comedy and acting.

In the 1980s, she started working as a stand-up comedian, gaining recognition for her bold and often taboo topics. Her television debut came in 1990 with the short-lived CBS sitcom "Sugar and Spice," followed by her role in the syndicated variety comedy "My Talk Show."

In 1991, Stephanie Hodge starred as Nurse Sandy Miller in the NBC sitcom "Nurses," a spin-off of "The Golden Girls." Although the show was initially intended as a star vehicle for her, it later became more of an ensemble cast.

She left the show after two seasons and went on to star in the CBS sitcom "Muddling Through" in 1994, playing the role of an ex-convict trying to turn her life around. Unfortunately, the show received negative reviews and was canceled after one season.

Her next major role came in 1995 when she began starring in the WB sitcom "Unhappily Ever After" alongside Geoff Pierson. Her character, Jennie Malloy, was initially the focus of the show but was later overshadowed by other characters.

Stephanie Hodge left the show in 1998, and her character was brought back to life in a bizarre twist after negative audience reactions.

Throughout her career, she has appeared in several films, including "Big Top Pee-wee" (1988), "I, Madman" (1989), and the science fiction film "Evolution" (2001).

She has also guest-starred in numerous sitcoms such as "Reba," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "The War at Home," and "Dog with a Blog." Her dramatic credits include appearances in "NCIS," "Bones," "Scandal," and "The Rookie."

Stephanie Hodge has been married to Lance Lyon since 1992, and they have one daughter named Harper. She was previously married to Scott Novotne.
