Stephanie Zimbalist

Stephanie Zimbalist, born on October 8, 1956, in New York City, is an American actress best known for her role as Laura Holt in the NBC detective series "Remington Steele" (1982-1987). She grew up in Los Angeles, California, where her father, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., was a well-known actor, and her mother, Loranda Stephanie, was a housewife.

Stephanie Zimbalist attended the Marlborough School in Los Angeles and later graduated from Foxcroft School in Middleburg, Virginia. She then pursued her passion for acting at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in acting in 1978.

Her early career included roles in television movies such as "The Gathering" (1977) and "Centennial" (1978), as well as guest appearances on shows like "Family" and "The Love Boat." Her breakthrough came with "Remington Steele," where she starred opposite Pierce Brosnan and Doris Roberts. The show was a critical and commercial success, running for five seasons and earning Stephanie a loyal fan base.

After "Remington Steele," she continued to work in television and film, starring in movies like "The Magic of Lassie" (1978) and "The Awakening" (1980), and appearing in TV movies such as "Caroline?" (1990), which won three Emmys and earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She also took on roles in series like "Touched by an Angel" and "Diagnosis Murder."
