She began her career as a singer in the Muriel Cigars commercials in 1976, where she sang the catchy jingle, "Let Muriel turn you on / That is my desire / Muriel lights a flame in me / Where there's Muriel smoke, there's fire." This led to appearances on "The Merv Griffin Show" over 30 times.
Her breakthrough came with her role as Goldine in the 1979 film "Goldengirl," which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. She was soon signed by NBC for her own variety show, "Presenting Susan Anton," and later by ABC for the drama series "Cliffhangers."
