Susan Lucci, born Susan Victoria Lucci on December 23, 1946, in Scarsdale, New York, is an American actress best known for her iconic role as Erica Kane on the ABC daytime drama "All My Children."

Her father, Victor Lucci, was of Italian descent, and her mother, Jeanette Granquist, was of Swedish, German, and French descent. Susan grew up in Garden City, New York, and attended Marymount College, where she earned a BA in drama.

Her career began in 1969 when she landed the role of Erica Kane, a role she portrayed for an impressive 41 years until the show's end in 2011. Her portrayal of Erica Kane earned her the title "Daytime's Leading Lady" and made her one of the highest-paid actors in daytime television.

Despite being nominated 21 times for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, she won the award only once, in 1999, after her 19th nomination.

Susan Lucci has appeared in various TV series, including "Dallas," "Hot in Cleveland," and "Army Wives." She also hosted "Saturday Night Live" in 1990 and starred in the Lifetime series "Devious Maids" from 2013 to 2016.
