She is the younger sister of director Francis Ford Coppola and academic August Coppola, making her part of the renowned Coppola family.
Her performance in "The Godfather Part II" earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and her role in "Rocky" garnered her a nomination for Best Actress.
