She is best known for her role as high school secretary Lovita Alizay Jenkins-Robinson in the WB sitcom "The Steve Harvey Show" (1997-2002), for which she received three NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.

Her early career included appearances in films such as "Friday" (1995) and "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood" (1996). Her personal life is as fulfilling as her professional one.

She was previously married to Derrick Carolina, with whom she has a son, Daylen Ali Carolina. Currently, she is married to former football player Karon Riley, and the couple has two children, Kal'El Joseph Riley and Lola Riley.

She grew up in San Francisco and later established the "Take Wings Foundation" to motivate, uplift, and inspire adolescents aged 13 to 18 growing up in public housing and foster care in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In her career, she has taken on various roles in television and film. After "The Steve Harvey Show," she joined the cast of the Showtime drama series "Soul Food" as Eva Holly and later had regular roles in the UPN/The CW sitcom "All of Us" (2003-2005) and the TBS sitcom "Meet the Browns" (2009-2011).
