Vin Diesel, born Mark Sinclair on July 18, 1967, in Alameda County, California, is an American actor and film producer. He was raised by his astrologer/psychologist mother, Delora Sherleen, and his adoptive father, Irving H. Vincent, an acting instructor and theatre manager.

He has a fraternal twin brother named Paul Vincent. Diesel never knew his biological father and has stated that he is of ambiguous ethnicity. He grew up in New York City's Greenwich Village, where he made his stage debut at age seven in a children's play called Dinosaur Door.

Vin Diesel attended Hunter College but dropped out to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. After struggling to find success, he returned to New York and created his own short film, Multi-Facial, which was accepted at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival.

This led to his first feature film, Strays, which was also well-received. His big break came when Steven Spielberg cast him in Saving Private Ryan in 1998. Diesel gained further recognition with his role as Richard B. Riddick in Pitch Black and as Dominic Toretto in The Fast and the Furious franchise.

Vin Diesel has appeared in numerous successful films, including xXx, The Chronicles of Riddick, and The Pacifier. He is also known for his voice acting work, such as the title role in The Iron Giant and Groot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Vin Diesel founded the production company One Race Films, the record label Racetrack Records, and the video game developer Tigon Studios. He has produced several of his own films and provided voice and motion capture for video games.

In his personal life, Vin Diesel has been in a long-term relationship with Mexican model Paloma Jiménez since 2007. The couple has three children: daughter Hania Riley Sinclair, son Vincent Sinclair, and daughter Pauline Sinclair, named in honor of his late friend and Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker.

He is known for being a devoted father and often shares his pride in his children.

Throughout his career, Vin Diesel has received various awards and nominations. He won the MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Duo with Paul Walker for Fast & Furious 6 and the Black Reel Award for Outstanding Voice Performance for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

He has also been nominated for several People's Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.
