Yvette Vickers, born Yvette Iola Vedder on August 26, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri, was an American actress, pin-up model, and singer. She was the daughter of jazz musician Charles Vedder, and her early life involved traveling with her parents to their various performances.

Yvette Vickers attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she initially studied journalism but later switched to drama after discovering her passion for acting. She began her career by making television commercials and modeling for White Rain shampoo advertisements in New York City before returning to California to pursue acting.

Her first movie appearance was in "Sunset Boulevard" (1950) under the name Yvette Vedder, although she was not credited. She made her first credited movie appearance in "Short Cut to Hell" (1957), directed by James Cagney.

In the same year, she starred in "Reform School Girl" and became well-known for her role as Honey Parker in the cult classic "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" (1958). She also appeared in "Attack of the Giant Leeches" (1959) and had roles in several other films throughout the 1950s.

Her career extended beyond acting; she was also a singer and released a jazz tribute album titled "A Tribute to Charlie and Maria" in the 1990s. Her film roles began to decrease around the 1960s, but she continued to make occasional appearances in movies and TV shows until her last role in the 1991 horror film "Evil Spirits".

Yvette Vickers was married three times and had an on-and-off 15-year relationship with Jim Hutton, the father of actor Timothy Hutton. Yvette Vickers passed away around 2010, and her body was discovered in her home in April 2011 by her neighbor.
