Zoe Perry

Zoe Perry is an American actress born on September 26, 1983, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. She grew up in a family deeply rooted in the entertainment industry, which influenced her career choice.

Despite her parents' initial reluctance to let her pursue acting due to the stress involved, she eventually followed in their footsteps.

Her first television roles were appearances as Jackie Harris in flashbacks on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, a character originally portrayed by her mother. She attended Boston University and later transferred to Northwestern University, where she began performing in theater to overcome her shyness and make friends.

After graduating, Zoe moved to New York to pursue television work, landing small roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness brought her back to California, where she found work in theater.

In 2013, Zoe performed alongside her mother in The Other Place on Broadway. She also performed with her father in Eugene O'Neill's drama Anna Christie at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in Los Angeles.

Her career continued to grow with roles in television series like The Family and Scandal. In 2017, she was cast as a younger version of Mary Cooper, Sheldon's mother, on the CBS sitcom Young Sheldon, a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory. This role brought her significant recognition and a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination.
